Ann Blake is an international multi award winning playwright, performer, director and musician. An MA in Drama and Theatre Studies from NUI Galway and a BA in Arts from Mary Immaculate College, Ann is a founding member of Choke Comedy Improv as well as vocalist and bassist with The Brad Pitt Light Orchestra. Across all disciplines she loves to create work that both provokes and connects an audience. In 2017 Ann wrote and performed in The Morning After The Life Before (Gúna Nua). Winning ‘Best Production Award’ at London Ontario and Montreal fringes, it returned to Montreal for The Wildside Festival in January 2018. The show is currently touring nationally and internationally including Galway Theatre Festival and Brighton Fringe. Ann has also participated in Belltable:Connect Fishamble Director Mentoring Scheme and Theatre Makers with Lynne Parker and Deirdre Kinahan. She has directed three productions with the Department of Drama Studies in Mary Immaculate College: The Crucible (2016), The Resistible Rise of Arturo Ui (2017) and 4.48 Psychosis (2018). A seasoned performer Ann toured with The Brad Pitt Light Orchestra as a musician and actor in their collaboration with Gúna Nua, The Unlucky Cabin Boy.
